The History of Serendipity Edible Creations

Our Journey begins with a father trying to provide for his family during the Great Depression. Frank Martiny (our great, great, great grandfather) opened a small stand in Kegomic. Michigan. He sold Potato bit puffs (his form of potato chips), popcorn, and carmel corn to the local business owners. He was selling so much that a national potato chip company ran him out of business by cutting off his supplies used in making the puffs.

“The Great Depression was the worst economic downturn in the history of the industrialized world, lasting from the stock market crash of 1929 to 1939.”

Jason and Lisa Moore decided to use the family recipe as a base for a whole slew of flavors. Lisa was a medical researcher before Multiple Sclerosis took her ability to continue in her chosen profession. Today, she spends her time researching and perfecting our puffed corn signature flavors and various delicacies.

Why we added our Special Blend & CBD varieties

At the end of 2019 we started infusing our signature flavors with CBD isolate.

We decided to infuse our signature caramel corn with cannabutter in honor of Jason’s father, a 4-tour Vietnam Veteran, receiving a purple heart after his last tour. He died in 2017. He would use our Special Blend in place of high doses of pain medication through RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) and topical lotions. We hope the puffed corn and delights we make today will help others in the same way it helped Jason’s dad.

The Moores

Jason and Lisa Moore live in Grand Rapids, MI with their two daughters, Lydia and Eva. They have been happily married for almost 20 years. Jason is a manager a LKQ’s Keystone Automotive. He is in charge of delivery drivers, AP, vehicle fleet, and safety. Lisa dedicates her time to Serendipity Edible Creations. A master in the kitchen, she is the one who concocts the popcorn flavors and delights offered today.
